34-year-old man treated in hospital after bus stop assault in Ayr

A 34-year old man has been taken to hospital after being assaulted at a bus stop in Ayr.

Officers were called to the bus stop on Prestwick Road around 6.45pm on Thursday 20th June when two men got out of a grey car and assaulted the man.

He was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment.

The men then made off, driving in the direction of Tam’s Brig.

The first man is described as white, stocky build, balding, around 40-years-old with stubble. He was wearing a red football top and white trainers.

The second man is described as white, medium build, short, brown hair and around 40-years-old. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable Gillian Wilson said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to trace these men and I would encourage anyone who saw them or knows them to get in touch.

“This assault happened on a busy road and anyone in the area at the time is asked to get in touch if they can help with our investigation.

“In particular, if you have dash-cam footage or private CCTV that could assist then please make contact with us.”
