26-year-old man dies in East Ayrshire crash

A 26-year-old man has died in a crash in East Ayrshire, which has left two other men seriously injured.

He was driving a Volkswagen Golf on the B769 Stewarton to Irvine Road near to West Lambroughton at around 9:45pm on Monday when the car left the road and struck a tree.

He was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, but died a short time later.

Two passengers in the car remain there, and staff describe both of their conditions as serious.

Sergeant Kevin Blackley of Ayrshire Road Policing Unit is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or anyone who saw the Volkswagen Golf driving on that road before the crash took place to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 4223 of 16th July.
