Diane from The Traitors joins star-studded Celebrity MasterChef line-up

Although she didn't win the show, it's safe to say Diane Carson was one of the most memorable contestants during the second series of The Traitors earlier this year, appearing alongside her son Ross!

After turning into somewhat of a national treasure, rumours have been rife that 63-year-old Diane could appear on a number of popular reality shows, including both Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother...

It's now been confirmed that Diane will take part in the upcoming series of Celebrity MasterChef when it returns to the BBC in the coming weeks, alongside the likes of Craig Doyle, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and Vito Coppola.

Katie Attwood, MasterChef Series Editor, says of the new series: “Celebrity MasterChef fans are in for a treat this summer – with a top line-up of celebrities and the ever-thrilling John and Gregg on judging duty. These stars will need to pull out all the stops this year as we’re really testing their mettle. It’s one you won’t want to miss!”

Sarah Clay, Commissioning Editor for the BBC, added: “The standard of this competition gets higher every year, so expect lots of laughs and some fierce rivalry as we’re set for some of the hardest challenges yet. These celebs are a brave brunch and are taking us on a brilliant ride - all in the trusty hands of our distinguished Judges, John and Gregg.”

When is Celebrity MasterChef on TV?

No official start date has been announced just yet, but this year's celebs are teasing it's 'coming soon'.

The official MasterChef Instagram account also teased the series would begin later this Summer.

What channel is it on?

Celebrity MasterChef will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

A whole host of famous faces have won the show in the past, inclduing Wynne Evans, Lisa Snowdon, Kadeena Cox, Riyadh Khalaf, Greg Rutherford, John Partridge, Angellica Bell, Alexis Conran, Kimberly Wyatt, Sophie Thompson, Ade Edmondson, Emma Kennedy, Phil Vickery, Lisa Faulkner, Jayne Middlemiss, Liz McClarnon, Nadia Sawalha and Matt Dawson.
