Manchester legends New Order will headline and curate their own day at Live From Jodrell Bank this summer.

Also performing in the shadow of the world-famous Lovell Telescope on Saturday 7th July are Johnny Marr, The Whip, Jake Evans (Bad Lietenant) and Hot Vestry.

New Order’s Stephen Morris said today "Playing at Jodrell Bank is going to be really exciting. I grew up not far from there, and I remember riding my bike over to it all the time when I was a little lad.

"I saw Flaming Lips play there and they was brilliant. Really special. We’re going to try to do something special too, but we’re not telling you what! I do plan to take my life-size Dalek and Cyberman up there for the weekend at the very least.”

Alongside the music there will be hands-on science workshops, lectures and experiments and much more.

Ticket to the New Order day go on sale from 9am this coming Friday (9th March). Make sure you don’t miss out!

Other Live From Jodrell Bank events include Icelandic ambient/post rock act Sigur Rós on 30th August and The Australian Pink Floyd Show who perform a celebration show to mark the 40th Anniversary of the release of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ on 6th July.
