Sir Elton John hints at retiring from music
The singer turns 70 in March 2017
Sir Elton John has hinted that he could be retiring from music ahead of his 70th birthday in March 2017.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain, ‘The Rocket Man’ singer admitted he believed ‘people have enough’ of his music, causing sales of his songs to not be like they used to.
He said "I love playing. My records don't sell any more because people have enough Elton John records in their collection. I love making them but it's someone else's turn now."

The news comes after Elton headlined a music festival over the weekend, other stars including Calvin Harris, Michael Buble and Britney Spears are also set to appear.
Speaking about whether younger artists in the industry inspire him, Elton said “No, but I listen to their records. It's a very diverse bill and that is what the festival is about and that is what it should be about. Diversity. It’s all about the songs really. That keeps you in the forefront."
Despite approaching the age of 70, Elton believes his voice is getting better with age and is sounding better than he ever has.
Speaking about his plans for his big birthday in March next year, the 69-year-old said "I'm going to be in Los Angeles, I'd like to do something for charity on the night."
