Maybe he even got his idea from here?

Donald Trump has won the 2016 Presidential election and is set to become the 45th President of the United States of America. However it seems the creators of our favourite yellow cartoon characters, The Simpsons, may have seen this one coming.

Watch the clip below:

Of course we're not saying that Trump's time in office will result in financial slumps, just that it's weird that what started as a joke as actually happened. Who knows, maybe he even got his idea from here?

After his victory Trump gave a speech in which he revealed that rival Hilary Clinton had been gracious in defeat, "I have just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us on our victory and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign."

He went on to say that to those who didn't support him that "it is time for us to come together as one united people".

"The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer," he said. "I promise you I will not let you down."

Mr Trump will be inaugurated on the 20th January 2017.
