Piers Morgan slams The X Factor and Honey G in bitter rant

Piers isn't a fan

He’s known for his controversial outbursts and now TV presenter Piers Morgan has had his say on The X Factor whilst taking a swipe at marmite contestant Honey G.

After being a judge on Britain’s Got Talent for many years, you might think Piers has warmed to the controversial acts on British talent shows but this doesn’t seem like the case!

In a recent interview, the Good Morning Britain presenter admitted Honey G is ‘the worst act’ he’s ever seen on the popular talent show and harshly added, ‘The Honey G thing makes me physically vomit’.

It seems Piers isn’t a fan of the aspiring rapper as she is showing no signs of ‘improvement’ on the show, despite sailing through week after week. He said, “She is uniquely diabolical. I have never seen a worse act on The X Factor or any talent show! The fact that she is still there is grotesque. She is showing no sign of improvement. If anything there has been a marked deterioration the more show performs."

Comparing Honey G, real name Anne Georgette Gilford, to Strictly Come Dancing’s ‘joke act’ Ed Balls, Piers added that at least the Labour MP is showing signs of growing and development.

The 51-year-old also added that he thinks Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell have all ‘lost their marbles’ for supporting the rapper.

In the last few weeks, all four judges have given Honey G a standing ovation after her performance on the show with the public continuing to vote for her.

However, not everyone is a fan…

Despite receiving harsh criticism on social media, Honey G is yet to be in the bottom three and is now getting closer and closer to the big final in December.

When Sam Lavery lost her place on the show last weekend, the 17-year-old appeared on This Morning and defended Honey G. When Phillip Scofield and Holly Willoughby quizzed her on whether she was annoyed she had been booted off the show in favour of Honey G, Sam refused to criticise her act and admitted ‘she works really hard’.

Honey G and the other remaining contestants including 5 After Midnight, Matt Terry and Ryan Lawrie will be performing songs from movies on Saturday’s upcoming show.
