It’s a sad day for Gogglebox fans as loveable couple Steph and Dom Parker have announced they are taking a break from the show.

If you’re a fan of the programme you would have come to love the posh couple who have been regulars on the Channel 4 show since it started back in 2013.

Now Steph and Dom, who own a five-star B&B in Kent, have revealed they taking a break from the show in order to let other families have more say.

Speaking about their departure, Steph said “We think it’s important that everyone gets their chance to be on Gogglebox and give their opinion, and having been on it from the beginning we felt like we’d pretty much said all we needed to say, and we knew what we were going to say. We’ve decided to take a break from it.”

Although the couple have stated they are merely ‘taking a break’ and haven’t actually quit the show, it doesn’t seem like they are in a hurry to return.

Adding that they don’t have a lot of time due to ‘other projects’, Steph said, “We’ve got other projects and not a lot of time. We’re very busy and filming at the hotel was pretty tough. I’m so touched that people have been missing us, because I think there are some incredibly funny characters on there so the fact we’re missed is quite a big deal for us.”

They will be missed!

It’s not all bad news for Gogglebox fans. Earlier in the week it was announced that pop stars Olly Murs and Niall Horan will be appearing on the show alongside England footballers for a special celebrity version for as part of Stand Up To Cancer.

The episode will be the third celebrity special in recent years, with previous celebrities including Kate Moss, Noel Gallagher, Geri Horner and Boy George.

The celebrity special is set to air on Channel 4 on Friday 21st October.
