Love Island's Montana Brown shares heartbreaking tribute poem for Mike Thalassitis
Mike tragically died in March 2019
Love Island 2017 star Montana Brown has shared a heartbreaking poem she's written in tribute to her late friend Mike Thalassitis.
Montana was incredibly close to Mike after the pair met on the show, and was left heartbroken when the semi-professional footballer tragically took his own life in March 2019, leaving behind his friends and family.
Now, months after his tragic passing, Montana has detailed the grief she's been suffering, taking to her Instagram page to share a poem with her fans.
Montana, 24, has now detailed her grief in an emotional poem, which she took to Instagram to share with fans. She captioned the poem, 'This is just a snippet of my poem... took me a while to write and the full version will be available in just a couple of days ❣️miss you M 💫'. sic
It read, 'Grief is a pain that sucks you in, it’s where their handprint lives within. It makes your body ache inside, that at the beginning you try to hide. I live in faith he still exists, that handsome face I truly miss. I’ll always wonder, rain or snow, how you hid your pain and I wasn’t to know. Through sleepless nights I tried to conceal that what horrid thing happened was actually real.

After appearing on Love Island in the summer of 2017, Mike was found dead in woodland near his home in Essex in March 2019.
A Met Police spokesperson said at the time, "Police were called to a park near Latymer Way, N9 at 0928hrs on Saturday, 16 March to reports of a man found hanged.
"Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, aged in his 20s deceased. At this early stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious. Police are in the process of informing the man's next of kin. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Just days after his tragic death, Montana appeared on This Morning to discuss their last communication.
Asked how she found out the devastating news of Mike's death, Montana explained, "One of my friends texted me 'I don't know whether this is true, but Mike has taken his life.' I tried to call him and his phone went straight to answer phone."
