Gogglebox's Daniel reveals real reason for shock split from Stephen
The pair are getting a divorce after six years of marriage
Gogglebox fans were left in shock earlier this year when fan favourites Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig-Webb announced they were getting a divorce, following six years of marriage.
Although many thought a reconciliation could be on the cards, due to the pair still having a close relationship, those rumours were put to bed when it was announced that Stephen would be appearing on the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating, and now Daniel has opened up about the split for the first time.
Speaking during a chat with OK! Magazine, 49-year-old Daniel said: "Neither one of us wanted to be unhappy and when we called time on it, yes it was very upsetting because when you get married and walk down the aisle you don’t think that’s ever going to happen, you can't think that, you have to think positively."
Although Daniel went on to admit the split isn't down to anything 'scandalous', he added: “We got to the point where we’d talked about the breakup, about why we were breaking up, how we were going to go through it, and how we were both feeling. When we both felt in a stable place and a bit more confident, and also there for each other, that’s when we put it out."
Despite the split, the former couple are currently still living together until they sell their flat, as well as also sharing their beloved dogs Betsy, Babs and Princess. The pair are also business partners, running two successful hair salons in Brighton.
Just months after the news of their divorce was made public, it was announced that Stephen had signed up to appear on the upcoming series of E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating, alongside the likes of Helen Flanagan and former MAFS UK star Ella Morgan.

As Stephen and Daniel are currently still living together, Daniel opened up to OK! Magazine about his ex-husband's new venture, admitting they do speak about his dates from the show.
Daniel told the publication: “He’s off filming and he’ll come out and we’ll have a debrief about it. He doesn’t have to tell me anything, and he doesn’t tell me everything, but if there’s something on his mind we’ll talk it through."
So despite the shock split, it really does sound like these two are still the best of friends.
