Former Coronation Street and Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain has launched a plea on Twitter after he discovered his car had been stolen.

Chris’s Audi A7 was stolen in Cheadle, Manchester on Thursday 15th September and the actor is offering a ‘substantial reward’ to anyone that can help recover the car.

Taking to Twitter to plea with his followers, the 29-year-old wrote “My silver Audi A7 (MJ11 MUA) was stolen this morning from Cheadle, Manchester, and info leading to its return will be substantially rewarded’.

The actor then urged his fans for help in a separate tweet when he asked 'If everyone could retweet my last tweet I’d really appreciate it’.

Chris was a popular character during his time in Coronation Street but was removed from the show in 2013 after footage emerged of him rapping about rape and violence in a video which caused public outrage.

Three years on from the incident, Chris recently appeared on an episode of This Morning where he admitted he felt ‘depressed and ashamed’ over his controversial actions.

Speaking on the show in August, he said “The impact is massive, I have constantly worked since I was 15, started on Hollyoaks, then Dancing on Ice, Coronation Street. Then this happened, it put my family through hell, my mum and my grandma, my dad, my girlfriend and I let a lot of people down including myself."

He then went on to say “I didn't leave the house for a long time, I was really depressed and really ashamed and rightly so."
