Certain EastEnders viewers joked over some of the language used in the soap on last night's episode (Tuesday 20th September), with some even threating to stop watching the show due to its 'cringe' factor.

The scene in question involved character Bex Fowler confiding in Louise Mitchell about her two-month relationship with Shakil Kazemi.

Bex, played by Jasmine Armfield, told her friend that Shakil is different with her in reality and seems to SnapChat her more, before stating “But he's so peng though.”

The unusual choice of words left viewers cringing at their TV screens, with fans of the show taking to social media to add their thoughts about the scene.

One unhappy viewer even threatened to stop watching the popular soap, writing 'Snapchat' and 'peng' were just used in EastEnders and I'm ready to stop watching it.'

Others just seemed to 'cringe'...

If like us you have no idea what the word ‘peng’ actually means, we have found the translation. The word is another way of saying a person is ‘good looking’.

Earlier in the week, fans seemed to be left baffled at a bizarre episode which saw residents of Walford infuriated at the new bin collection rules. Characters on the soap learnt their rubbish bins would be collected every two weeks, instead of the usual weekly service.

Whilst some viewers said the storyline made the soap more 'realistic', others were simply baffled at the 'pointless' addition.

Despite the latest complaints, the soap continues to be ever popular with fans over 30 years after it first aired.
