Bizarre holidays in April
These days are REALLY strange
There are some unusual national days in the year and it seems April is full of them.
Whether it's Kiss Your Mate Day or No Housework Day they're all a great excuse to celebrate!
1st - International Tatting Day The skill of making elegant tatted lace. Fancy a new hobby?
2nd - Reconciliation Day We'd been looking for an excuse to message those friends we'd forgotten about!
3rd - Don't Go to Work Unless it's Fun Day "Sorry boss, it's an official thing, we need to make work fun today or I'm not coming in!"
4th - Walk Around Things Day As opposed to what? Jumping over everything?
5th - Go for Broke Day Take a risk on that thing you've been scared of!
6th - National Caramel Popcorn Day We wonder if sweet and salt get a day too?
7th - No Housework Day We'll not really enjoy the extra clean up the day after though!
8th - Draw a Picture of a Bird Day Erm, exactly how it sounds. Draw a picture of a bird.
9th - Name Yourself Day Bob? Carol? Superwoman? Take on a new identity for the day.
10th - Golfer's Day Don't mind if we do.
11th - Barbershop Quartet Day You could try harmonising with your mates, we expect a lot of glass will shatter today!
12th - Big Wind Day This day will blow you away!
13th - Scrabble Day Better swallow a dictionary for this.
14th - Look up at the Sky Day Don't look directly at the sun though!
15th - Rubber Eraser Day Happy rubber day?** **
16th - National Eggs Benedict Day Yes please!
17th - Bat Appreciation Day Did you know the bumblebee bat is only the size of a thumbnail?
18th - International Juggler's Day How good are you at it?
19th - National Garlic Day An excuse for bad breath!
20th - Look Alike Day Are we seeing double?
21st - National High Five Day Focus now... No-one likes the embarrassment of missing a high five.** **
22nd - National Jelly Bean Day Combine the flavours to make a new flavour!
23rd - National Zucchini Bread Day Courgettes and bread are apparently so good, they get their own special day.
24th - Take a Chance Day Go on, just say yes!
25th - World Penguin Day Time to stick on** **Happy Feet.
26th - Hug an Australian Day I feel an Australian accent coming on...
27th - Tell a Story Day Let's hear your best (and worst) tales!
28th - Kiss Your Mate Day Every friend deserves a little appreciation, so pucker up!
29th - National Shrimp Scampi Day Well, I was wondering what to have for tea.
30th - Hairstyle Appreciation Day Best book ourselves into the hairdressers...
