Visitor restrictions eased at Dorset County Hospital

Published 10th Mar 2021

Visitor restrictions are being relaxed at Dorset County Hospital from today (Wednesday 10 March).

The rules have been in place for more than two months as part of efforts to reduce spread of Covid-19.

People have only been allowed to visit in exceptional circumstances, such as end of life care or to be at births.

In a statement on their website, Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: "Alongside the Government’s roadmap for coming out of lockdown we are reintroducing visiting for our inpatients from Wednesday 10 March 2021.

"Each patient will be able to choose one named visitor and, where possible, this should be someone from their household or support bubble.

"A booking system will be used by the wards to book a one-hour timeslot in advance so please contact the ward before visiting."
