Toll changes to Southampton's Itchen Bridge
The off-peak charge has been scrapped

Toll changes on Southampton's Itchen Bridge come into force from today (10 February).
There's no longer an off-peak charge so you'll pay £1 no matter the time of day.
It's 40p for those with a SmartCities card.
The city council says it's to cover maintenance costs and encourage people to consider alternative transport options.
In addition, the toll for heavy goods vehicles will increase from £25 to £40 per crossing at any time.
In a statement, Southampton City Council said: "The toll is intended to help manage the number of vehicles using the Itchen Bridge crossing and related routes in Woolston, Sholing and further afield, by prompting drivers to make a meaningful decision on whether to use the Itchen Bridge instead of other routes, or alternative modes of transport as well as fund the ongoing maintenance of the bridge."
