Three in hospital after car hits tree on Isle of Wight

Police have questioned a man following the crash in Newport

Two people, including a 17-year-old girl, have been seriously injured in a crash in Newport.

A black Jaguar XF rolled several times after colliding with a tree on Staplers Road at around 3.25pm on Friday afternoon (March 24th).

The teenager, and a 35-year-old woman have been taken to Southampton General Hospital.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Wootton, was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

He is currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.

Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and are now appealing for any information, or dash cam footage, that could help their investigation.
