Regeneration plans for area around railway station restart
Officials want to improve the area known as station approach in Winchester

Plans for a major regeneration of the area around Winchester railway station are being relaunched.
The long running Station Approach project has been dogged with delays caused by the pandemic, a legal challenge and a councillor revolt.
The regeneration would see land near the railway station and the Cattle Market and Worthy Lane car parks transformed.
People are being encouraged to share their views in a consultation which has been launched.
Cllr Martin Tod, leader of Winchester City Council, said: "This is a great opportunity. It will help us strengthen green travel and connect the station, city, and the wider area better.
"It can support future ways of working and living in our city and it can do so in a way that respects the city and all the things that are special about it."

A newsletter is being sent to over 5,000 homes near to Station Approach to set out details of how to contribute ideas.
Two consultation events are also planned in the autumn.
The first is on Thursday 15 September from 2-7pm, outside the main entrance to the station, and the second on Saturday 24 September from 10 – 2pm in a market stall on the high street.
The consultation will run for 12 weeks, concluding on Friday 21st October.
