Pompey sign new goalkeeper
Pompey have completed their first summer signing by bringing in goalkeeper Will Norris
The 29-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal after leaving Burnley at the end of last season.
He spent the second half of the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Peterborough and helped them reach the League One play-offs.
Blues boss John Mousinho said: “Will’s an experienced goalkeeper and played a lot of games last season, while also has experience of both the Premier League and the Championship.
“He comes here with a really good pedigree and will be looking to cement his place in the Pompey team.
“Will is a confident player and is comfortable on the ball, as well as being a good shot-stopper and someone who commands his area.
“Everyone knows it was a position we wanted a permanent player for after last season and so we’re delighted to bring him to the south coast.”
Norris began his senior career with spells at Hatfield and Royston before signing for Cambridge and playing a part in their return to the Football League.
He also appeared for United at Wembley, when they beat Gosport 4-0 to lift the FA Trophy in March 2014.
The stopper moved on to have spells with Wolves and Burnley, appearing in the Premier League for both clubs.
Norris joined Peterborough on loan back in January and kept 11 clean sheets in his 24 appearances for them.
