Police dig up garden in search for missing mum-of-three
Southampton woman Jo Sheen disappeared four years ago
Police are examining items recovered from a garden in Southampton to see if they are linked to a mum-of-three who went missing four years ago.
Jo Sheen, 44, was last seen travelling back to the city from Fareham in December 2019.
Officers have been searching a house in Parsonage Road in Northam since Monday.
A statement from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We can confirm that we have been digging up ground at the Parsonage Road address as part of our enquiries into the disappearance of Joanne Sheen.
"Officers at the address have been searching for anything relevant relating to Joanne that may assist our enquiries, including her possessions or any evidence of a body.
"We have recovered a number of items at the address that we will be investigating further over the coming weeks.
"We are treating Joanne’s disappearance as a murder investigation, however are keeping an open mind as to what may have happened to her.
"No arrests have been made as a result of our attendance at Parsonage Road and we have now left the address."
Five people were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder in 2020, and they were all released with no further action.
