Lithium battery sparks electric vehicle blaze near Winchester
Two vehicles and a garage have been destroyed by a fire in the village of Bramdean
Crews from Winchester, Bishop’s Waltham, Whitchurch and Eastleigh were alerted to the double garage fire on Church Lane shortly before 8am on Monday morning.
Informed that there were a number of cylinders inside and a significant smoke plume emanating from the timber building further resources were requested to assist.
The garage and the vehicles were severely damaged in the fire which was extinguished by firefighters in breathing apparatus using jets and hose reels.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service is urging people to be careful when charging electrical items in our homes.
