A housing group has apologised after people living in retirement flats in Eastleigh were left with no hot water for three weeks.

Residents at Raglan Court were reportedly forced to boil water in kettles to wash, and to clean dishes.

It's also reported that heating at the 37 flats on Mountbatten Road - which are managed by housing provider Stonewater - cut out over the weekend.

Speaking on behalf of Stonewater, it's Assistant Director of Operations, Ann Brookes, said:

“We’re really sorry that customers at Raglan Court have been experiencing issues with their hot water since earlier this month. When the engineer originally attended to assess the issue, they reported that there was an intermittent fault, which meant it was allocated as a lower priority for repair.

“We have spoken to our heating maintenance partners, who confirmed an engineer attended Raglan Court yesterday afternoon to replace the broken parts and will return this morning to fully restore the hot water system for customers.”
