Gas engineers are working to fix a main line which was damaged when a lorry crashed in Bognor Regis this morning (25 June).

People are being urged to stay away from the area.

The lorry went through a fence backing onto the railway on Longford Road.

Emergency crews say it's currently 'in a precarious position' on its side on top of signalling equipment.

A telegraph pole also risks falling if it's moved before the suspected gas leak is capped.

People living nearby are being urged to keep their windows and doors closed.

The road is expected to be closed for several hours and all trains to and from Bognor have been cancelled.
