Financial boost for households in East Hampshire
The council tax rebate is on its way
22,000 households in East Hampshire are being told they should get their council tax rebate from Monday.
ÂŁ150 is going back in to people's bank accounts as part of government efforts to soften the blow of rising energy bills.
Bosses at East Hampshire District Council say they're proud to have turned the payments around so quickly.
In a statement, the council said: "22,000 East Hampshire council tax payers in homes in bands A to D who pay using direct debit will soon receive their energy rebate payments of ÂŁ150.
"Residents in band E homes who receive Disabled Persons Relief will also receive a payment.
"Most customers will receive their payment from Monday 25 April."
"The ÂŁ150 rebate will show in bank accounts as being received from East Hampshire District Council or EHDC.
"If you do not pay by direct debit or your direct debit details do not match the council tax payer, we will be writing to you in May to explain how you can claim the ÂŁ150 Energy Rebate. "
It's believed East Hampshire District Council will have paid out a total of ÂŁ3.3million through this route.
