A major road into Poole is going to be closed for up to 10 weeks.

Wallisdown Road westbound will shut from October 10 between Scott Road and Bryant Road.

A cycle lane is being installed with work expect to last until Christmas.

The work also includes new footpaths, safer crossing points and bus stops.

Councillor Mike Greene, BCP Council's transport official, said: "By improving Wallisdown Road, a major connecting route between our three towns, we will help reduce journey times and encourage more people to embrace healthier and environmentally sustainable modes of travel.

"We will also be contributing positively towards our wider transforming travel initiative."

Improvements to the Wallisdown area started near the Mountbatten Arms in November 2020.
