Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident in Hull on Sunday (11th September)

A man in his thirties was reportedly punched on Anlaby Street in the early hours of the morning.

He's being treated for a life-threatening injury to his head and remains in a critical condition.

The two men arrested remain in custody.

Humberside Police have said

"It was reported that a 37-year-old man was waiting for a taxi outside of Horner’s Bar on Anlaby Road at around 12:40am on Sunday with his partner when the two men are believed to have walk towards them.

"A verbal altercation is thought to have taken place and the man is believed to have been punched. He was taken to hospital to receive treatment for a life-threatening injury to his head, and remains in a critical condition at this time.

"Following an appeal yesterday, a 37-year-old man came forward in relation to the incident, whilst a 34-year-old man was arrested this morning. They both remain in our custody at this time."

Officers are asking anyone with any dashcam footage to contact them.
