Two men arrested after firearm incident in Immingham

We're told there'll be a police presence in the area while investigations continue

Two men have been arrested in Immingham, after an altercation between a man and woman on Worsley Road.

It led to a man reportedly threatening the woman with a firearm.

Armed Officers were deployed to the scene around 4.45 pm yesterday afternoon (5th October 2022) where two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear and violence.

It's understood the woman didn't sustain any injuries, and both men remain in police custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Tom Kelly says

"I understand an incident of this nature is likely to cause concern amongst the community, and whilst it is very early days in our investigation, we believe those involved are known to each other."

"I'd like to offer reassurance to residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident"

We're being told that a police presence will remain in the area, with a scene guard will remain in police whilst enquiries continue.
