Two men and a woman who tortured and killed a man in Hull have all been given life sentences.

On Sunday 12th March paramedics were called out to Bathurst Street after being told that Lee Rhoades had been found unresponsive.

They found him on the bathroom floor with serious injuries to his face and head. He was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

The post mortem found the cause of death to be multiple injuries inflicted repeatedly over a three day period.

Last month a Jury found 33-year-old Lee Hailstone of Bathurst Street, Keeran Edge aged 25, of Hull, and Amie Kehoe, 23, of Blisland Close guilty of Lee's murder.

Today at Hull Crown Court they were told they would serve a minimum of between 16 and 31 years behind bars.

Hailstone will serve a minimum of 16 years, Edge a minimum of 31 years and Kehoe will serve a minimum of 28 years.

Meanwhile Toni Hodgson aged 31, of Boulevard, Hull was charged with assisting an offender and pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing, after admitting she assisted Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe following Lee’s brutal attack.

Today, (Wednesday 20 December) Hodgson returned to Hull Crown Court to be sentenced for assisting the three in Lee’s murder and received 16-months in prison.

Following the sentencing, Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) Detective Superintendent Al Curtis said:

“Lee was brutally tortured and murdered by the people he trusted and called his friends. Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe preyed on Lee’s vulnerabilities for a prolonged period of time and subjected him to a series of horrendous attacks, resulting in Lee, losing his life.

“The callous actions of Hailstone, Edge and Kehoe were absolutely unforgiveable. Whilst the sentence imposed today cannot bring Lee back, I hope it provides his loved ones with a sense of comfort in knowing Hailstone, Edge, Kehoe and Hodgson are now behind bars, and can no longer cause pain to anyone else.

“I would like to thank all my colleagues who attended this horrific incident, the Major Crime Team for their dedication and hard work in building a strong case against Hailstone, Edge, Kehoe and Hodgson, and the public for their assistance in helping us secure justice for Lee.

“We will always do everything we can to seek justice for those who come to harm at the hands of another, and to ensure those who commit the crime are held to account for their actions.”
