A total of 54 homes could be built in on a new Hessle estate under plans lodged by a developer.

Plans from Lovell Homes propose building the homes across two parcels of land to the west of Heads Lane, Hessle and the Tranby Park Care Home.

Documents stated the estate would be a high quality and sustainable residential development complete with trees kept on the current land and the planting of new ones.

Lovell Homes’ application, lodged with East Riding Council, proposes building an estate spanning the two parcels of land, linked by a road running through its centre.

The site lies of Heads Lane, behind existing cottages and within a wider swathe of land subject to several applications for homes, including some already approved.

The newly proposed development would see four one bedroom, 14 two bedroom, eight three bedroom, 23 four bedroom and five five bedroom homes built.

Those include four one bedroom, five two bedroom and four three bedroom affordable homes along with two bungalows.

The estate would feature a mixture of detached and semi-detached houses as well as maisonettes, with the highest homes standing at 2.5 storeys tall.

Plans stated dormers originally proposed for the tallest homes had been removed to prevent overlooking into neighbouring gardens.

An underground tank is proposed for drainage in the estate which would be managed by Yorkshire Water.

The developer also plans to create a ‘green boundary’ of trees and other plants around sections of the site which would provide a border and habitats for birds and insects.

Some parts of the site would also be left as open green spaces.

The developer stated the design of the homes had existing local houses in mind and they had been drawn up with feedback from East Riding Council planning officers.

Plans stated the estate would be built to last.

They stated: “The proposal is considered to enhance attractive features, retain trees and planting and maintain the character of the wider development.

“The proposal will generate an integrated development that supports local services, contributes to local character and provide new natural space and habitats.”
