East Yorkshire MP campaigning to get Hornsea shop to reverse it's ban on a visiting cat

An East Yorkshire MP has launched a campaign to encourage Tesco in Hornsea to reverse it's ban on a visiting cat.
Graham Stuart the MP for Beverley and Holderness says it's "not right" that Lincoln the cat, who liked to sit in the stores foyer on compost bags was banished from the store.
It's hoped bosses will U-turn and let local celebrity back in Tesco.
Lincoln has become a local celebrity and has been a regular at the shop for around three years.
Owners Lorraine and Kris Clarke were shocked to learn that their cat would no longer be welcome at the store.
Graham Stuart said:
“It’s not right that Lincoln has been removed from his perch atop the compost at Tesco in Hornsea.”
“He’s not hurting anyone and he brings joy to the community; that’s why I have launched a petition calling for the reversal of this unfair ban.”
Lincoln’s owner Lorraine Clarke said:
“Lincoln is so much more than 'just a cat'! He brings joy to so many people - not just locally but globally now too!"
“My husband and I are amazed that his story has caught the eye our local MP, Graham Stuart.”
A Tesco Spokesperson said:
“Whilst we appreciate that Lincoln the cat is somewhat of a local celebrity and many of our colleagues and customers like to see him at our Hornsea Superstore.
"However, for health and safety reasons if he makes his way inside our colleagues will gently encourage him out again.”
