Man in a "critical condition" after crash near Beverley Racecourse

Emergency services were called to the A1174 in the early hours of Sunday

A man is in hospital with a life-threatening head injury after a crash near the Racecourse in Beverley.

It's thought his condition is critical.

It happened around 1.50 am yesterday morning (19/11), with emergency services being called to reports of a collision on the A1174 York Road..

Police tell us the collision involved a pedestrian and a white Nissan Juke, which was travelling towards Beverley.

Officers investigating the collision are particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have seen the man, who at the time was wearing a black suit and white shirt as he walked between the racecourse and Beverley town centre.

Anyone who was in the area at the time, or who might have dashcam footage is being encouraged to call 101 quoting log 45 of 19 November
