Man charged following warrant on Oxford Street in Bridlington

Officers were in attendance on Tuesday following reports that chemicals were being kept within the property

A 61-year-old man has been charged after officers carried out an operation on the morning of Tuesday 11th April following reports that controlled chemicals were present.

People were advised to leave their homes temporarily with a shelter set up at Bridlington Spa.

An Explosive ordinance disposal team along with emergency services attended the scene.

Gert Meyers, aged 61, of Oxford Street, Bridlington, has been charged with breach of criminal behaviour order and causing public nuisance.

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 14 April).

Police remain in the area conducting lines of enquiry.
