Man Charged Over Fatal Branton Crash
Two men were killed after a car smashed into the front garden of a house in Branton last month.
A Doncaster man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Branton last month.
21-year-old James Maughan of Marshland Road, Doncaster, has been charged with a string of offences in connection with the incident that resulted in the death of two men.
He has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, failing to report a road traffic collision and a public order offence.
On Tuesday, 25 August, a car smashed into the front garden of a house on Poppyfields Way in Branton - it happened at around 1pm
Five people were believed to have been in the car at the time of the collision: two men, Liam Aldred, 26, and Dean McIntyre, 27, died as a result of the collision, two 21-year-old men and a 15-year-old boy were also injured.
Mr Maughn was charged yesterday and has been remanded into custody until Friday, 18 September, when he will appear at Sheffield Crown Court for a further bail application.
A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man both previously arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving remain on police bail.
A 21-year-old woman, previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, remains on police bail.
