Scunthorpe Fire Station has been forced to pause collections of donations for refugees fleeing Ukraine.

On social media, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service says items already given are being processed for delivery to Poland.

They'll restart donations as soon as they can.

Some items already collected have reached Poland.

On Twitter, the Fire Service says: 'Thank you for the donations sent to Scunthorpe station, these are being processed for delivery to Poland to reach the Ukraine refugees.

'While this happens we will temporarily pause receiving donations and will update when we’re in the position to accept more. Thank you'
