A Hull man has spoken out after his wife waited 16 hours for am ambulance and later died in hospital.

Matthew Simpson made his comments after many of the country's doctors warned the pressure on health services is "unbearable".

The Government says they're providing more staff than ever and significant funding.

Mr Simpson believes his wife would have survived if the ambulance had got there sooner.

She was eventually taken to Hull Royal Infirmary but died a short time later.

She should not have been left to die the way she did

He told us:

"A hundred per cent I believe if they'd got to my wife within 6 hours, say from 3 to 9 o clock, mu wife would have still been here now."

"She would still be here today because she would have got the help."

She was my soul mate

"We both knew she was on borrowed time because of her illness but I'm sorry to say but she should have never have been left to die the way she did"

"She was my best friend, she was my soul mate, she was very supportive, she was very loving."

"She was in a wheel chair but she never once moaned about her illness".
