Hull Hospice says cost of living crisis is "hugely challenging"
Dove House Hospice is seeing fewer donations
The cost of living crisis is having a major impact on charities across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
We've spoken to Dove House hospice in Hull that cares for end of life patients.
They say energy prices are doubling and fewer donations coming in.
We talked to their Chief Executive Chris Sadler.
He told us: "Our electricity account alone on the hospice site has gone up a hundred thousand, added to that we've had a little bit of a drop off in our regular giving, people that pay small amounts on direct debit on a regular basis."
"We've noticed that's dropped off a bit."
"This isn't about the current crisis so much as what the funding model going to look like in the future"
"Hospices won't be sustainable in the future."
"The growth in our income and our ability to develop our income is reducing every year."
"We get really good support from the community without which we wouldn't be here."
"It costs about 8.5 million to run the hospice, we have to raise about 7.5 million every year."
"We are used to raising money but obviously it's just a bit more challenging at the moment because our costs are going up more than our income's going up."
