Hornsea burglaries and thefts

Humberside Police are investigating a number of incidents including burglaries in Hornsea which were reported to them on Monday 3rd May.
In the early hours of the morning they received three burglary reports. Firstly a window was smashed, sounding the alarm at a fish and chip shop on New Road in Hornsea - no entry was gained but damage was caused to the premises.
A fish and chip shop on Marine Drive is reported to also have been broken into and although nothing appears to have been stolen the property was damaged.
A public house on Newbegin was reported to have been broken into and, along with damage to the property, cash was stolen.
Officers were deployed quickly to the area and their investigations have been ongoing. However as yet no suspect has been identified.
CCTV images from one of the burglaries shows a man with short dark hair wearing a grey hoodie, with a reflective stripe on the chest and shoulder, and grey jogging bottoms.
Polcice are also investigating two reported thefts from a cars on Eastgate, and a car was also tampered with in St Nicholas Drive, all respoted to have happened on 3rd May.
Sergeant Georgina Kirkwood from the local neighbourhood community team said:
“I want to reassure the community of Hornsea that we are doing all we can to find those responsible.
“I also would like to take the opportunity to remind residents to make sure the homes and cars are locked and secure at all times.
“I especially want people to report anything suspicious in the town, if you see a person or vehicle acting suspiciously please call us straight away. We want to catch those who have committed these offences and bring them to justice.”
