People in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire continue to struggle with the cost of living and it’s set to get worse with what’s going on in Ukraine.

The Government says it will monitor and offer support if the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia leads to a surge in global food prices.

We’ve been talking to Steve Bloy from Nunsthorpe in Grimsby as part of our #lifeonthebreadline special who says money problems have left him often feeling depressed:

He told us: "Before I joined a men's group I got vouchers for the community shop but I do struggle".

"Most mornings I get up and I don't even know what day it is - everyday's the same".

"Until June my wife was alive and I was a full time carer for her and she had pension credit".

"Then everything went - we'd got no savings so I had to go onto Universal Credit".

"I'm struggling, the only godsend I've got is my mother lives down the street.

"She brings me my shopping without her I'd be on the streets, I think because I would struggle to keep the household running".
