East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire impacted by flooding

Emergency services across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire have been responding to heavy rain which has led to some flooding.

A small number of properties were impacted by flooding with Cottingham one of the worst affected areas.

Elsewhere there was major flooding to some agricultural land and gardens with fire services called to several incidents.

They were mostly across the East Yorkshire region,

There remains some roads that are either closed or passable only with care.

Surface water is still a problem in some places this morning whilst flood warnings remain in place for parts of the River Hull and Holderness drain.

On the south bank there are also some warnings for flooding around the River Ancholme close to the Brigg area.

Police issued warnings for heavy surface water in some parts of the region asking people to take care.

There could be further rain today - although it's not expected to be heavy with hopes river levels will drop.
