East Yorkshire Buses have lifted certain restrictions on concessions passes, to make it easier for people to get the coronavirus jab.

Normally, the cards can only be used after 9.30am, but the travel company says they'll be valid during rush hour, if the holder has a vaccine appointment.

They'll need to show the driver a letter inviting them for vaccination.

Ben Gillingham, the company's area director, said: "We know that some people don't necessarily have the benefit of friends and family nearby that can take them in the car.

"We're a big part of the local communities we serve, and we've always felt that we need to do our part in helping the communities thrive.

"We want to see the pandemic over as soon as possible, as do many people in the country, so we can get back to normal, get back to taking people to work, to school, to the seaside..."
