Cost of living crisis sees more people across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire struggling

It appears many people who've previously been financially stable across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire are now starting to struggle with the cost of living with more price rises due from later this week.

From April 1st the energy price cap will increase nationally for around 22 million customers whilst water bills and council tax will also go up.

Now it appears that some people in work are having difficulty too.

We spoke to one one woman in that position who uses Grimsby Foodbank.

She told us: "It's making me more aware of my disposal income - of what I can spend".

"I need to pay all the bills and it's been making me conscious of how much gas and electric I'm using a lot more than I ever was before".

"With the price of living going up, food going up, energy going up but your money isn't going up."

"You still want to do the same things but your income's not going up".

"I nearly never came (to the foodbank) I thought that I was being a bit greedy because there might be people more in need than me but if you are in need you can't help being in need and everybody needs a bit of support along the way don't they?"
