Campaigners in Beverley have added their voices to concerns about broadband poles after starting a petition calling for a change in regulations so planning permission's needed to install them.

Broadband company Connexin claim they've installed them due to rival KCOM not sharing their underground infrastructure, KCOM's denied that and say talks are in place.

We spoke to Beverley campaigner Paul Brayford who told us:

"Some people are quite worried, some people said it's affecting their mental health."

It's going to change the look and feel of their communities in ways they may not want

"We're seeing some really badly positioned poles outside people's houses - right in front of their windows."

"There's people across Beverley who I don't think realise it's coming, they're unconcerned at the moment simply because there are no signs up in their locality."

"It's going to change the look and feel of their communities in ways they may not want."

"People are very unhappy to the extent that one or two have told me they won't even go to concerts at the Connexin arena because of the branding of it - they're that upset about it."

"It'll be a spiders web of cabling above out heads which we didn't sign up for when we bought our houses."
