Hessle Fire: 8 Crews are still on site of blaze at Hessle

Humberside Fire and Rescue say significant progress has been made throughout the night at the blaze in Hessle. It's been declared a major incident

Meanwhile East Riding of Yorkshire Council is working closely with emergency partners regarding a large fire at a business in Hessle.

The situation is being monitored regularly and the council and its partners are continuing operations to support residents during the incident.

Gillian Barley, emergency control centre manager and head of revenues and procurement at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:

“We are monitoring the current situation and assisting residents in the Hessle area.

“We continue to work with our emergency partner agencies to ensure all residents, particularly our elderly and vulnerable residents, are cared for and supported.

"Our care providers are working with families to ensure everyone in the area is safe.”
