Around 50 runners have been disqualified from Beverley's 10K race - for wearing headphones!

They were told at the finish line of Sunday's event that their time's wouldn't be recorded.

Co-organiser, Andy Tate, told Viking that wearing headphones "breaches health and safety guidelines" as they can't hear race marshalls.

It's the first year anyone has been disqualified from wearing headpieces at the race.

A record 1,550 people took part in the event at the weekend.
