Five men who brutally attacked a man in his house in Willerby have been sentenced at Hull Crown Court.

Christopher Davison had his house broken into, his car and watches stolen and faced a brutal attack on himself, his dog and a lodger.

Four of the men have been sentenced to 22 years and a fifth to 13 years

The attack on March 9th 2015 in Willerby is being described as vicious and calculated.

The 5 men attacked Christopher Davidson and his lodger after out of date information given to them along - with a safe key - on the understanding he had a considerable sum of money in a safe in his home.

Judge Jeremy Richardson QC explained that several key features made the attack an extremely serious including that it was a planned burglary, a considerable distance was travelled from Merseyside to Hull to carry out the crime, it was a prolonged attack and chilling threats were made.

David Llewelyn, aged 29 was sentenced to 22 years for aggravated burglary, and wounding with intent and a concurrent sentence of 9 months for the unconnected crime of handling in Liverpool.

John Tuffy, aged 28 was sentenced to 22 years for aggravated burglary, and wounding with intent.

Daniel Jones, aged 26 was sentenced to 22 years for aggravated burglary, and wounding with intent.

Mark Platt, aged 30 was sentenced to 22 years for aggravated burglary, and wounding with intent.

Jamie Hayes, aged 30 was sentenced to 13 years for aggravated burglary.
