A Hull mum who has battled to get support for her autistic son for the last 10 years is calling for more to be done to ensure other families don't face the same barriers in accessing help.

Anna Adams' son, Michael, was diagnosed with the condition when he was just 4 years old.

She says she was left with no option but to remove him from mainstream and local authority special schools due to a lack of help in place to support his needs.

She thinks there needs to be a greater understanding of the mental health condition and is among a group of mums who've now set up a charity to help support other families going through the same ordeal.
