Mission Christmas: Week 1

Published 20th Nov 2015

What a fantastic first week of Mission Christmas it has been!

Our Mission Christmas appeal was kickstarted on Sunday with our team of Christmas volunteers taking to the streets of Hull alongside our Mission Christmas Van for the ‘Santa Parade’, the very first showcasing of the Mission Christmas van kindly donated by Northside & Matt Vinyl Graphix!

Monday saw our official on air launch and the whole Viking team getting into the spirit with main sponsors William Jackson Food Group (see the silly picture above of all staff with antlers on!)

Wednesday it was travelling across to our official drop off point for Scunthorpe ‘The Foundry Shopping Centre’ to welcome Missison Christmas to shoppers and do a spot of filming!

Thursday we were on to the next drop off location... the winter wonderland at Brigg Garden Centre!

Meanwhile Ellerker Lodge Garden Centre near Brough welcomed Elloughton Primary School to decorate their Cash for Kids wish tree raising funds for Mission Christmas!

The final day of Mission Christmas week 1, we headed down to Spring Garden Centre near Hornsea to set up the final drop off point and bring the Christmas cheer.

Thank you to every organisation and school that have come on board so far, a special thanks to Santander donating a fantastic £4432 towards the appeal, Hull Collegiate School for dropping off their gifts and all individuals that have popped into Viking FM to drop off gifts to kick start the appeal (see picture of Viking voice winner Rachael who donated her gifts)
