The Cobus Communications Group knows all about supporting the local community and charities alike but this is usually a more strategic operation via the Cobus Foundation. Cobus was contacted late on Wednesday by Charlotte Pickering, charity manager at Viking FM Cash for Kids, to ask if there was anything that Cobus could do to help with a shortfall of over 600 gifts for disadvantaged young adults living in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

Cobus Managing Director Michael Smith and Sales and Marketing Manager Emma Waudby met Charlotte and Jess from Viking FM at the Asda on Hessle Road to buy the remaining 600+ chocolate selection boxes that was required to meet the record number of overall gifts that Viking have supplied this year, thought to be even more than last year’s figure of over 18,000!

Michael commented “Although Cobus are well known for our charitable giving, the Cobus Foundation, and our local community projects I couldn’t let these disadvantaged youngsters go without this Christmas and although the gift isn’t a lot it’s important to make sure that they all feel valued and that they haven’t been forgotten about this Christmas”. Emma added “It’s Christmas and we just wanted to spread some happiness and help Viking FM with their shortfall in gifts and are delighted that we could do a little something to help out”.

Michael and Emma helped to unload the van back at Cash for Kids HQ and were asked to say a few words, so you might even get to hear them on the radio in-between some Christmas songs, Cobus would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and wish them all the best for the New Year…

Thank you to Cobus Communications for supporting Mission Christmas!
