Grimsby Town were our only side to get a win on Saturday, it was defeat for The Iron and the Minstermen. So starting in the Conference and the Mariners were 3-1 winners over Barnet at Blundell Park: Oliver Palmer, Jack Mackreth and a Lenell John-Lewis penalty for Town. In League Two York City went down 2-nil to promotion chasing Stevenage who move into the play-off spots after the Bootham Crescent victory. And in League One Scunthorpe United were beaten 2-nil by Bristol City, who are only second in the table on goal difference.

And in Sunday's game there was disappointment for Hull City. Hull City had managed to hold-off West Ham at Upton Park in the first half, but the Tigers were tamed in the second half, when first Andy Carroll, then Morgan Amalfitano and Stuart Downing all scored. The 3-nil defeat leaves Hull third from bottom in the Premier league, still in the relegation places.
