A Grimsby couple who at the grand age of 80 and 77 are still fostering children are to be honoured by the Queen.

Her Majesty's Birthday Honours List has been unveiled.

Charles and Cecily Coburn from North East Lincolsnhire are among those named and will receive MBEs for their services to local children and their families.

Over the past 16 years, they've fostered over forty young people.

Speaking to Viking FM they said despite their age, they won't be giving up fostering any time soon:

"People think we are mad but it's all part of our life at the moment. We keep thinking we will give up soon but we don't want to give up, we want to carry on. We honestly don't know how many more years we will be doing this for. We do keep saying this is the last year but we've been saying that for the last four years and we're still doing it and we will still do it."

We asked them what it means to receive the honour:

"We can't believe that just general people like us are being recognised in this way, it's just fantastic. We just hope that what we are doing encourages other people to do the same, particuarly those who are retiring and don't know what to do with themselves like we have done."

The list also features others from across Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire who have made a difference in their community.

68-year-old Joyce Gee from York is set to receive a BEM for services to Children and Young People with Special Needs through The Deanne Gee Memorial Fund

While 72-year-old Donald Johnson from Scunthorpe will also get a BEM for services to the community in Winterton, North Lincolnshire.
