North East Lincolnshire is the focus of attention this weekend as it hosts the national Armed Forces Day event.

Up to 100,000 people are expected in Cleethorpes for the celebrations.

As part of the celebrations there will be a big parade and a number of air displays, including from the Red Arrows.

Councillor Ray Oxby, leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said:

“We’re extremely proud to have been chosen to host the Armed Forces Day national event for the UK this year.

"It’s a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to our armed forces for the work they do and builds on the excellent work in previous years to get to this stage.

"The team have been working hard towards bringing what will be a spectacular show to the area.
